About St. Casimir Parish

Founded in 1898 by Polish immigrants, St. Casimir has long served Catholics in the West Side of South Bend. The current church was opened in 1925 and is known for its red brick, traditional Polish style. Today, the parish serves a vibrant, predominantly Hispanic neighborhood with Sacraments celebrated in both Spanish and English. It is served by priests of the Congregation of Holy Cross and shares a pastor with St. Adalbert Parish.

About the Residence

Formerly the parish rectory, the residence features six bathrooms, three full baths, common rooms and a chapel, making it perfect for a close-knit group of residents. Prior to hosting a QV community, it also served as a convent and discernment house for Felician sisters.

QV Fellow Service at St. Casimir

At St. Casimir, Fellows can volunteer with many different ministries from the parish K-8 school, to parish outreach, and feast day celebrations. No matter your interest, they’ll be a great home for your skills and enthusiasm!

From the Pastor: Fr. Ryan Pietrocarlo, CSC

“QV has offered a wonderful opportunity to enliven our parish by having new people enter our parish life. Our once unoccupied rectory building is now being used and the involvement of the residents in the parish has brought great excitement to our parishioners and has increased our parish spirit.”

The Congregation of Holy Cross

Founded in 1837 by Blessed Basil Moreau, the Congregation of Holy Cross is known by its charism to educate in the faith, working to “make God known, loved, and served, and thus save souls.” The current Holy Cross priests, Fr. Ryan Pietrocarlo, Pastor, and Fr. Zach Rathke, Assistant Pastor, that serve at St. Casimir live at the St. Adalbert rectory.
